We write further to your request, received 10 September 2024, which states:
"1. What is the budgeted cost for the new planned interconnector and what is its planned capacity in MWh?

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, under section 20 of the Act, we are not required to provide information in response to a request if it is already reasonably accessible to you, whether free of charge or on payment of a fee. Details on the interconnectors design capacity along with further information, can be found in the Future Generation Delivery Strategy 2022-30, on the Manx Utilities. However, to advise and assist the second Interconnector design capacity will be between 70MW to 100MW.
Total Project Costs estimates to date, range from £140 million to £200 million.
- While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Manx Utilities does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps provide some of the information in the format that you have requested, specifically for the Diesel sites, as we do not separate the diesel generation at either sites. However, to advise and assist, the table below outlines the cost price of energy produced on the Isle of Man in 2023-24.
