Dear ###

We write further to your request received 28 May 2024, which states:

"Please supply details of the revised airport procedures required if the windfarm proposal goes ahead as stated in FOI3843909"

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Manx Utilities does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested. Manx Utilities does not hold the detail on airport procedures but has been advised that procedural or system changes may be necessary as wind farm infrastructure is constructed, this being the case for either onshore or offshore facilities. For clarity, Manx Utilities or Wardell-Armstrong would not advise either the Airport Authorities or the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on aviation procedures.

However, to supply further detail and assistance, Manx Utilities recently responded to a media query, which referenced a similar question; the article is attached. Also it is worthy to note that the Isle of Man Civil Aviation Administration has already published advice and guidance on a range of issues associated with renewable energy installations, including wind turbines and their effects on aviation, the document can be found here; https://www.gov.im/media/1381049/cp1-renewable-energy.pdf

Please quote the reference number 3887729 in any future communications.
