Dear ###

This request is being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2015.

We write further to your request which was received on 10 January 2020 and which states:

"Please provide details of the number of developers and residents requested by Manx Utilities Drainage to carry out a FRA (flood risk assessment) for any development or private residential build before a planning since 2016"

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, complying with your request for information would require Manx Utilities to undertake substantial compilation or collation of information that it holds, which we are not required to do under the Act. This is because we do not maintain statistics on this matter, nor do we have an easy way of identifying the number of planning applications where flood risk assessment has been requested, which could be via meetings, phone calls or emails. To provide further advice and assistance please note that as from 1st January 2020, the planning department have stated that all planning applications will require flood risk assessments to be submitted. Please also note that every planning application is publically accessible on the Isle Of Man Planning portal and can be searched by area, following this link: https://services.gov.im/planningapplication/services/planning/search.iom.

Please quote the reference number 1128725 in any future communications.
