049/19 INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SMALL GRANTS APPLICATION The Department considered a paper submitted by the Executive Director, Crown and External Relations which sought approval of the Small Grants funding for the 2019-2021 project period.
The Department approved the recommendations to approve the following applications for funding as set out in the paper:
 SG 0719 – “Restoring degraded lands to reduce rural poverty in Zimbabwe” Excellent Development Isle of Man Ltd. Requested funding: £83,977
 SG 1019 – “Access to clean water using solar power for drought-prone pastoralist communities in Afar, Ethiopia” CAFOD. Requested funding: £99,000
 SG 0619 “SwimSafe” RNLI. Requested funding: £57,855
 SG 1219 – “Emergency Obstetrics care for conflict-affected people in Hajjah, Yemen” British Red Cross. Requested funding: £81,989
 SG 0919 – “Construction of two school buildings and education improvement in Rural Nepali Communities” Pahar Trust. Requested funding: £95,029
 SG 1119 – “Wheels that heal: Providing mobile health services to marginalised communities, in Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria” The Leprosy Mission of England and Wales. Requested funding: £99,000
The Department also approved to the funding of the following applications in addition to those above:  Funding of £60,000 for application SG 0319 “Ikawa N’Inka” by Send a Cow; and  Funding of £100,000 for application SG 0419 – “Protecting Syrian Children” by Save the Children
