I would like to find out what happens to this waste that I separate, wash and recycle for my roadside collection boxes. I hear generally that everything goes to the incinerator and I want to know for sure if I am wasting my time. I spend a lot of time separating materials in the shared accommodation house I live in.

"Dear Sir, I would like to find out what happens to this waste that I separate, wash and recycle for my roadside collection boxes. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested. Further information Although it is not part of your question we are happy to provide some further information. Only Douglas Borough Council and Braddan Commissioners collect recycling in boxes. Both of these authorities are subject to the Freedom of Information Act and you would need to contact each of them separately. However, you may wish to contact DoI who may be able to help you.
