We write further to your request which was received on 16 September 2019 and which states:
"With reference to Section 65 of the Land Registration Act 1986 - as amended (LRA1986) Please provide information regarding applications which conform to Section 65, LRA1986 for each of the years 2017, 2018 & 2019 as follows: 1. For each of the years how many Applications to rectify Title have been made directly to the Registrar in Form 26. 2. For each of the years how many Rectification of Title has the Registrar exercised his discretion as set out in Section 65 (2) (2A) & (2B) of the LRA1986."
Our response to your request is as follows: The information requested relates to applications received into the Land Registry for rectification of registered titles in accordance with section 65 of the Land Registration Act 1982. The information is stored against title numbers rather than on a central register of applications received in Form 26. The information is potentially exempt as it relates to legal proceedings conducted by the Land Registrar. However the Registrar is content to provide the requested information. All applications relating to the rectification of the Register are referred to the Land Registrar. There are no delegations in place to enable any other member of staff to exercise the powers of the Registrar to rectify the register. The information has been collated based against searches of records held against individual titles. Our record- keeping practices do not allow us to say with certainty that the figures are comprehensively accurate although we believe them to be so.
