I request the following statistical data for each of the Island's primary and secondary schools for the academic year 2018-19: The total number of pupils on the school roll; The percentage of the school roll in receipt of FSM; The number of pupils deemed as having SEN*; The number of pupils deemed as having HLN; The percentage of the school roll who have EAL; The total number of pupils completing EYFS (Year R), KS1 (Year 2) and KS2 (Year 6) (for each Island Primary School at the end of the academic year- July 2019); The total number of pupils completing KS4 both overall (i.e. all those completing their compulsory schooling) and the number completing KS4 for examination reporting purposes for each Island Secondary School; The total number of pupils in KS3, KS4 and KS5 (for each Island Secondary School). * Please indicate if the SEN figure supplied includes HLN pupils. If relevant information held the SEN figure to be broken down by degree of need i.e. School Action, School Action Plus, HLN.

We write further to your request which was received on 4 September 2019 and which states:

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested. Specifically the following information is not held in the format requested: • The percentage of the school roll in receipt of free school meals (FSM)

• The percentage of the school roll who have English as an additional language (EAL) However by way of advice and assistance the numbers of pupils in each school who receive free school meals and the number of pupils in each school who have English as an additional language has been provided. I have enclosed copies of the information that is held. A description of what has been included is as follows: • School numbers on roll as of June 2019 (including reception year and Key stage’s 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) • Numbers of pupils on free school meals for each school • Numbers of pupils in each school with Special Educational Needs, including Higher Level Needs (HLN), and English as an Additional Language (EAL) • Number of pupils in year 11 (key stage 4), including the number of pupils taking exams Please quote the reference number 948173 in any future communications.
