Please provide all meeting notes, minutes, papers, assessments, impact assessments, cost verses benefit analysis, lists of key dates, documents (in whatever form), requisition notes and phone transcriptions as well as any other documents that are information pertaining to the proposed erecting of an Obelisk at Port Jack Headland, above Port Jack beach in Onchan, and for the other Obelisks under proposal by the DfE. Please provide a breakdown of the decision process for this scheme, what other monuments and/or signage were considered and any relevant information attached thereto.

We write further to your request which was received on 26 August 2019 and which states:

"Please provide all meeting notes, minutes, papers, assessments, impact assessments, cost verses benefit analysis, lists of key dates, documents (in whatever form), requisition notes and phone transcriptions as well as any other documents that are information pertaining to the proposed erecting of an Obelisk at Port Jack Headland, above Port Jack beach in Onchan, and for the other Obelisks under proposal by the DfE. Please provide a breakdown of the decision process for this scheme, what other monuments and/or signage were considered and any relevant information attached thereto."

Our response to your request is as follows: I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. 1. Attachment 1: “DfE Dep Paper_Obelisks”; Department paper outlining the proposed Obelisks. 2. Attachment 2: “DfE Communications_Obelisks”; all email exchanges both internal and external to the Department with regards to the proposed Obelisks. 3. Attachment 3: “DfE_DOI Report_Obelisks”; Department of Infrastructure Engineers report. 4. Attachment 4: “DfE Commissioners Letter_Obelisks”; physical letter received from Onchan Commissioners. With regards to “phone transcriptions”, please note that the Department does not operate any recoded telephone lines and as such does not hold this information.
