Dear ###
We write further to your request which was received on 22 July 2019 and which states:
"Please explain all of the reasons for re-surveying under the carriageway of Douglas
Promenade and please detail the cost of doing so."
As we have received no response to our email of 5 August 2019 requesting further
clarification we hope that the response we have given below answers your request.
The Department has not carried out re-surveying under the carriageway.
As is normal practice, a full topographical survey of the Promenade (above ground)
has been undertaken with numerous trial pits to determine ground conditions and the
setting out of services and recording their positions for the as-built records. The cost of
this work falls to the main contractor under the terms of the contract and it is not a
separate item within the contract, so the Department of Infrastructure does not hold
information on these specific costs.
Please quote the reference number 893962 in any future communications.
