Waiting list and patients not sleeping on wards in the last 6 weeks

Question 1: What is the current waiting list for all treatments? Question 2: How many patients were asked to relocate to Ramsey as it was not safe for them to go home? Question 3: How many agreed and how many refused? Question 4: How many patients did not sleep in the wings? I was a patient and observed this occurring. Question 5: Is it acceptable for a nurse trying to roll over the patient with her feet when the patient was unconscious? Question 6: What action would you take against the nurse in the above incident?

We write further to your request which was received on the 1st July 2019 and states:

"Question 1: What is the current waiting list for all treatments? Question 2: How many patients were asked to relocate to Ramsey as it was not safe for them to go home? Question 3: How many agreed and how many refused? Question 4: How many patients did not sleep in the wings? I was a patient and observed this occurring. Question 5: Is it acceptable for a nurse trying to roll over the patient with her feet when the patient was unconscious? Question 6: What action would you take against the nurse in the above incident?" While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested.

I have enclosed copies of the information that is held.

Question 1: What is the current waiting list for all treatments? Please find attached our current waiting times report as at the 7th July 2019. Question 2: How many patients were asked to relocate to Ramsey as it was not safe for them to go home? Ramsey District Cottage Hospital is used as a step down facility as a midway point between acute care and discharge. It is therefore, not a facility to be used as a safe haven. Question 3: How many agreed and how many refused? Please see Question 2 above. Question 4: How many patients did not sleep in the wings? I was a patient and observed this occurring. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Department of Health and Social Care (“the Department”) is unable to provide the information you have requested. This is in line with section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested. Question 5: Is it acceptable for a nurse trying to roll over the patient with her feet when the patient was unconscious? As per the Standards and Regulation of Care Act 2013 this is not acceptable behaviour.
