Dear ###

We write further to your request which was received on 10 January 2019 and which states:

Our response to your request is as follows: I have detailed below the information that is held and being released to you.

The percentage of Year 11 pupils making 3 (or more) whole levels of progress (9 sub levels ' e.g. 4 ' C) in English Language since Year 6 English 3LP IOM SNHS CRHS BHS RGS QEII 2018 72.8% 69.5% 71% 78.8% 66.9% 78.2% The percentage of Year 11 pupils making 4 (or more) whole levels of progress (12 sub levels ' e.g. 4 ' B) in English Language since Year 6 English 4LP IOM SNHS CRHS BHS RGS QEII 2018 33.8% 40.5% 34.7% 28.6% 27.2% 35.5% The percentage of Year 11 pupils making 3 (or more) whole levels of progress (9 sub levels ' e.g. 4 ' C) in Maths since Year 6 Maths 3LP IOM SNHS CRHS BHS RGS QEII 2018 58% 55.7% 53.7% 60.6% 53.8% 67.4% The percentage of Year 11 pupils making 4 (or more) whole levels of progress (12 sub levels ' e.g. 4 ' B) in Maths since Year 6 Maths 4LP IOM SNHS CRHS BHS RGS QEII 2018 24% 22.4% 20.3% 25% 20.5% 33.3% The average levels of progress of year 11 pupils in English Language since Year 6 English ALP IOM SNHS CRHS BHS RGS QEII 2018 2.8 2.9 2.8 2.9 2.5 2.9 The average levels of progress of year 11 pupils in Mathematics since Year 6 Maths ALP IOM SNHS CRHS BHS RGS QEII 2018 2.4 2.3 2.3 2.5 2.1 2.7 Average level of progress (ALP) is calculated by taking into account the entirety of the school cohort, and taking a mean average of levels of progress achieved across that cohort. For example, in any Year 11 cohort there will be pupils who have made 1,2,3,4,5 LP and occasionally pupils, who, for whatever reason, have not made progress due to not taking final exams, or there being an absence of baseline data. These pupils are shown as zero or have a minus figure, hence why general averages are often below 3 across an entire cohort. It is important to note that for achievement (KS2-4) ALL pupils are included in the data, inclusive of pupils in special units, and those discounted from attainment data for whatever reason.
