We write further to your request which was received on 7 January 2019 and which states:
"How many secretaries are employed in primary schools What is the total cost of employing secretaries How many heads are not teaching heads"
Our response to your request is as follows: I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. By way of advice and assistance the official job title of Secretaries within the islands Primary Schools is Primary School Administrator. Number of Primary Schools Administrators There are 38 Administrators employed within the islands Primary Schools. Total cost of employing Primary School Administrators At the end of the last financial year the total cost of employing Primary School Administrators was £728,000. Number of Headteachers who are non-teaching Headteachers The Department does not make any distinction between teaching or non-teaching Headteachers. All Headteachers, including both Primary and Secondary schools, will do some form of teaching, even if it is only one or two lessons a week, providing cover for planning, preparation and assessment time or covering when someone is ill.
