We write further to your request which was received on 12 September 2018 and which states:

Our response to your request is as follows: I have enclosed copies of the information.

How many persons who have previous service within the Isle of Man Constabulary, ie Police Officers who have retired or have resigned for other reasons, are employed or engaged by the Department of Home Affairs within the said Constabulary? 14. 9 of those were recruited via the advertising of vacancies through the Office of Human Resources in accordance with Government policy. The positions were advertised across Government and Island wide via social media. Permission was also sought and obtained from the Accounting Officer in order to comply with the Government Policy on Re-Employment of Public Service Staff Following Retirement. 2. What roles are such persons carrying out? • First Contact Officer • Investigator • IT Specialist • Organisational Development Manager • Office Manager • Information Governance • Firearms Administration and Instructor
• Dog Handling Instructor 3. What are their qualifications to carry our such roles? The 9 employed via the open process would have all evidenced via CV and at interview, the qualifications, skills and experience as detailed in the relevant Person Specification when advertised for the role. The other 5 all have specialist skills relevant to the specific role. 4. What is the total cost, to the Constabulary of employing such people?" "
The Constabulary is currently employing: 4 members of staff on Pay Band 7 5 members of staff on Pay Band 13 2 members of staff on Pay Band 19 3 members of staff are paid at individual hourly rates
s25(b)(i)&(ii) While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some the information you have requested because it is absolutely exempt under section 25 of the Act (absolutely exempt personal information). The reasons why that exemption applies are that: • The Isle of Man Constabulary is satisfied that the information amounts to personal data of which you are not the data subject; and • The Isle of Man Constabulary is satisfied that disclosure of the information would contravene one of the data protection principles as set out at Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation as it applies in the Isle of Man pursuant to the Data Protection (Application of GDPR) Order 2018, namely that the Isle of Man Constabulary can only disclose the information where it would be fair, lawful and meet one of the conditions for lawful processing in Article 6 and in this case, none of those conditions have been met. Details of names of individuals, qualifications and salaries may identify individuals and are subject of privacy for those individuals.
Details of individuals, qualifications and salaries may lead to personal data being released.
