We write further to your request which was received on 29 August 2018 and which states:

"Please provide information on costs of issuing cheques for payments of state pensions on behalf of IOM Government to persons living abroad."

Response Based on current rates and charges, the total cost to the Isle of Man Treasury of issuing cheques for payments of state pensions to persons living abroad is approximately £2,400 per annum. This includes the various costs of producing the cheques, their envelopment and their postage. Although not the subject of your application, you may wish to note that the Treasury is currently exploring the possibility of replacing cheque payments for overseas pensioners with electronic payments.
