Dear ###.

We write further to your request which was received on 20 August, which states:

Question 01) How many pre-arranged operations have been cancelled and required to be rescheduled for the last 3 months? Question 02) How many beds have not been occupied at 10pm for the last three months?"

Our response to your request is as follows: Question 01) How many pre-arranged operations have been cancelled and required to be rescheduled for the last 3 months? The process involves offering a patient from the waiting list a date to come in for their operation. The following table shows the numbers grouped by the intended management for the procedure (Day case/ Inpatient) and the reason (as defined within the system) for their offer to come in being rescheduled, where the patients offer has been between 1st June 2018 and 31st August 2018. Do note that these figures include 99 waiting list entries where the offer to come in has been rescheduled more than once during this period (these 99 entries cover 221 re-scheduled offer dates).

Question 02) How many beds have not been occupied at 10pm for the last three months? Please see the following table, which describes the details of occupied and available bed capacity of wards at 8pm, (system reporting captures this information at 8pm and not 10pm) for the period 1st June 2018 to 31st August 2018.
