We write further to your request, received 2 January 2026, which states:
"How many times has a fixed penalty notice on vehicles for the offence/ breach of failing to display a vehicular road fund licence in the following years
1 2024 2 2025
Of this number how many were cancelled with no further action and how many were paid."
Our response to your request is as follows: I have detailed below the information that is being released to you.
- In 2024 the number of fixed penalty notices issued for failing to display a valid vehicle licence was 2292. Of those, 1229 were paid and 233 were cancelled with no further action.
- In 2025 the number of fixed penalty notices issued for failing to display a valid vehicle license was 1115. Of those, 402 were paid and 115 were cancelled with no further action. Please quote the reference number 5201105 in any future communications.
