While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested. The TTRN tracker is used only to monitor live applications. Once an application is refused or cancelled, it is removed from the tracker, and no record is retained of the number of refusals or the reasons for them.

Although applications include basic dates (such as the date submitted and proposed start date), the Department does not record or report this data in the specific format requested, including whether applications were made within or outside 14 days of a closure expiry.

The Department also does not record applications by company, nor does it record complaints by application or by complaint type. Therefore, this information cannot be provided as it is not held.

I have detailed below the information that is held.

The Department only retains this information for two years. Therefore, the answers provided are for 2024 and 2025 only.

In 2024 (1/1 – 31/12) there were 243 applications for planned works. In 2025 (1/1 to 13/11) there were 312 applications for planned work. In 2024 there were 32 applications for emergency work. In 2025 (to 13/11) there were 66 applications for emergency work.

In 2024 there were 40 extension applications applied after existing closure. In 2025 there were 35.
