April 2025 to 30 September 2025 broken down by (a) category (b) nationality (c) salary (d)
employer/sponsor and (e) SOC code and count.
“Work Visa” means Visas issued for the purpose in the of working in the Isle of Man. The following Isle of Man Visas have been included in these figures: • Worker Migrant Visas (Worker Migrant, Intra Company Transfer, Health & Care Visa) • Business Migrant routes (Start-up & Innovator) & Tier 1 routes (Entrepreneur & Investor). Note that Tier 1 Entrepreneur route has now closed • Tier 5 (Temporary Worker). • UK, Isle of Man & Channel Islands Ancestry & Domestic Workers.
The below Tables include all Work Visas issued between 01 st April 2025 – 30th September 2025 and breaks them down as requested.
Category - Each work visa in broken down by its category: • Entry Clearance (Application from outside the Isle of Man & UK for initial entry). • Further Leave to Remain (Application “In Country” to renew a visa or change to a different visa. • Indefinite Leave to Remain (Application “In Country” for Settlement, usually after a period of continuous lawful residence).

We write further to your request, received 1 October 2025 and amended 22 October, which states:
"Please could you provide details of how many work visas have been issued in the period from 1 April 2025 to 30 September 2025 broken down by (a) category (b) nationality (c) salary (d) employer/sponsor and (e) SOC code and count”.
Our response to your request is as follows:
Please find attached appendix 1 which details the information being disclosed to you.
The information which is subject to disclosure in appendix 1 contains personal information. In this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because it is absolutely exempt under section 25 of the Act (absolutely exempt personal information).
This exemption applies to some of the information for parts (b) and (e) of your request and all of the information in part (d). The information which has been provided for parts (b) and (e) has been extracted from the information held. The information which is exempt for part (b) relates to a total of 42 nationalities and 72 individuals and the information which is exempt for part (e) relates to 56 SOC codes and 93 individuals.
The nationality, employer/sponsor and SOC code is classed as personal identifiable data. This is because nationality is where an individual is from, the employer/sponsor information details specific places of work on the Isle of Man and the SOC codes can be used to identify a job role. It is acknowledged that this information on its own is not always a direct identifier, however when it is combined with other data it can identify an individual.
The low numbers relating to nationalities and SOC codes, and individual employers/sponsors, as well as the other information requested, could be combined with other information in the public domain, personal knowledge of the individuals or
information from other resources, which increases the risk of individuals being identified.
In addition to the above, the information is not only disclosed to you it is also disclosed to the world at large, when it is published on the FOI disclosure log. Therefore someone with some existing knowledge or someone with the motivation to identify an individual would be able to do so from other available resources. You may not wish to identify the individuals from the information disclosed, however there is a risk that others might have the motivation and know how to do so.
