Parents have reported that school children took part in active school shooter drills in 2025. I request: 1) a copy of the scientific evidence showing the impact of such drills on fatalities which was considered prior to the implementation of such drills; 2) the date that such evidence was obtained; 3) records of the number of parents who affirmatively consented to their children being involved in such activities in 2025.

We write further to your request received 10 September 2025, which states:
"Parents have reported that school children took part in active school shooter drills in 2025.
I request:
1) a copy of the scientific evidence showing the impact of such drills on fatalities which
was considered prior to the implementation of such drills;
2) the date that such evidence was obtained;
3) records of the number of parents who affirmatively consented to their children
being involved in such activities in 2025."
Our response to your request is as follows:
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested.
By way of advice and assistance practice emergency lockdown drills are enacted to improve protective security awareness and preparedness that will help keep students, staff and visitors safe.
