Dear ###

We write further to your request, received 5 September 2025, which states:

"1) Since March 2022, please list the date/time of every occurrence whereby the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency has been requested to land at Nobles Hospital Helipad and airlift a critically ill patient from Nobles Hospital to a UK hospital.

2) For each year since 2022 (including 2025 so far), please list costs incurred with these airlifts as presumably UKMGA bill the IOM Govt for them.

3) Please confirm which department/budget pays for this service - both initially, and if it is then recharged to a different department - i.e. paid for by DoI and then recharged to ManxCare.

Thank you." While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested.
I have detailed below the answers to your questions:

  1. The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) does not hold clinical information regarding the medical condition of patients involved in these airlifts and therefore cannot confirm whether they were critically ill. DOI staff are not qualified medical professionals and do not have access to clinical assessments. However, the DOI can confirm that between March 2022 and September 2025, the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency was requested to land at the Nobles Hospital Helipad to facilitate the transfer of patients from Nobles Hospital to hospitals in the United Kingdom. A list of the relevant dates and times is provided below.
