While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested. The Department is unable to provide statistics on foreign national inmates and detainees. This is because the prison does not record foreign nationals as a statistic.
A country of origin is requested from each new prisoner upon reception, but this may
not accurately reflect an individual’s current citizenship status and is not used for
statistical reporting purposes.
Please see attached the spreadsheet which contains two tables, one with gender
statistics and the other contains crime committed statistics for the following categories:
Domestic Violence, Drugs, Miscellaneous, Property Sexual, Vehicle/Driving and
Violence, which are the only categories that the Department Document.
Please quote the reference number 4901038 in any future communications.
