AG's advice to [REDACTED] 26 July 2019 as attached. Attachment: Your appeal was submitted on a Stage two appeal form which is an appeal for external review and is usually completed if the appellant is not content with the outcome of the Stage 1 appeal which is an internal review of DEFA procedures. You have not submitted a Stage 1 appeal in relation to this matter. However, after taking advice from Attorney General's Chambers, it has been decided on this occasion to accept your submitted form as a Stage 1 appeal.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Information Commissioner for a decision on:

  1. Whether we have responded to your request for information in accordance with Part 2 of the Freedom of Information Act 2015; or

  2. Whether we are justified in refusing to give you the information requested.
