Original Request

Can you please tell me how many Manx resident children have been referred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital by Nobles Hospital since January 2015? I would also like to know how many if any of these children have suffered harm at the hands of either Alder Hey Childrens Hospital or Great Ormond Street . For example how many children have had medication overdoses since January 2015 until today?

Dear

We write further to your request received 25 July 2025, which states:

"Can you please tell me how many Manx resident children have been referred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital by Nobles Hospital since January 2015?

I would also like to know how many if any of these children have suffered harm at the hands of either Alder Hey Children’s Hospital or Great Ormond Street. For example how many children have had medication overdoses since January 2015 until today?"

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Manx Care is unable to provide the information you have requested. This is in line with section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested.

Unfortunately our response does not alter from that sent in regards to FOI 4784637 that you previously submitted. The information requested on nationality of children referred is not held. We would suggest that you may be best approaching Alder Hey and Great Ormond Street to enable a response for the amount of children who may have suffered harm. Unfortunately the Tertiary Hospitals won’t be able to advise whether the children were born to Manx parents.

Please quote the reference number 4827801 in any future communications.
