Dear ###
This request is being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2015.
We write further to your request which was received on 29 May 2018 and which states:
"I ask 1. if permits have been issued to the funfair caravans since 2015 ,and 2. if the Summerland plot is an approved site."
Clarification: The meaning I attach to the phrase is the same as the words used in the notice issued by the Department on 2nd April 2015 where it states that caravans will only be issued with a permit if they meet all the following criteria They are visiting for the TT, the Classic Races or the Southern 100 They have a return ticket within 3 weeks of arrival They are staying at an approved campsite While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested. 1. Permits have not been issued for the funfair caravans since 2015, although they do meet the relevant criteria. 2. Summerland is not a designated campsite as defined. However, the funfair caravans are granted permission to use the area while they are on the Island by the Department of Infrastructure subject to a number of conditions
