Dear ###

We write further to your request, received 8 July 2025, which states:

"The Parish of Malew and Santan is requesting the following information. Please provide the number of Road Traffic Collisions at Church Bends, Malew since 2020, per year, categorised by no damage, damage-only - specifying vehicle or church / graveyard wall, slight-injury, serious-injury, fatal. Sources of Information to include DHA Communications Division, DHA Road Safety Department and Police records."

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) is unable to provide the information that you have requested. This is in line with Section 11(3)a of the Act, as a practical refusal reason applies; namely we do not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested.

The Department is comprised of six-service areas;

The Corporate Services (Chief Officer's) Office Emergency Planning Unit Isle of Man Fire & Rescue Service Isle of Man Prison & Probation Service Communications Division Office of Cyber-Security & Information Assurance

The Isle of Man Constabulary is a separate entity within the department.
This means that any information held by the Constabulary is separated to the rest of the DHA and so an FOI request would need to go to them directly for any information they hold.

As further advice and assistance, the Communications Division did search the system used to record incidents (CAD) however this could only be defined by road rather than an individual bend. This recorded 1 Road traffic collision in 2020 and 4 in 2024. We advise that you may wish to redirect your request to the Isle of Man Constabulary as the police registry may also provide information of any walk in reports which CAD would not record.

Please quote the reference number 4777897 in any future communications.
