We write further to your request, received 12 June 2025, which states:
"Please can you provide a breakdown for the last 5 years, of how many
positions have been advertised and how many people have left GTS please?
Please also include how many of the vacancies failed to hire suitable
candidates in the first round of advertising."
Our response to your request is as follows:

For the calendar year 1 January to 31 December annually, the figures are as follows:
2020 - 0 positions were advertised 2021 - 16 positions 2022 - 6 positions 2023 - 15 positions 2024 - 12 positions 2025 – 4 positions
- How many people have left GTS please?
In total, there have been 51 leavers in the past 5 years. The information is provided from PIP, the HR and payroll system. The information includes staff who have left GTS including moving to other Departments or other Divisions, within Cabinet Office.
2020 – 15 organisational leavers 2021 – 13 organisational leavers 2022 – 10 organisational leavers 2023 – 4 organisational leavers 2024 – 6 organisational leavers 2025 – 3 organisational leavers
- Please also include how many of the vacancies failed to hire suitable candidates in the first round of advertising.
In 2021, 2 vacancies failed to hire suitable candidates in the first round of advertising and neither role was re-advertised.
In 2023, 2 vacancies failed to hire suitable candidates in the first round of advertising, however, both roles were readvertised and positions filled.
For 2022, 2024 and 2025 every advertisement was successfully recruited to on the first round of advertising.
