Dear ###
We write further to your request, received 9 June 2025, which states:
"I seek the following information regarding the Annual Accounts (Consolidated Financial Statements) and Annual (Directors') Reports for King William's College and Subsidiary Companies (Charity Registration No. 615):
For each financial year ending 31st August 2020 to 31st August 2024 inclusive, the date of receipt of such documentation from the College together with the dates which these were subsequently accepted and placed on file within Charites Administration; and
Such information held specifically relating to any aspect of the content and submission of the year ending 31st August 2024 Accounts and associated Annual (Directors') Report. This includes but is not limited to email correspondence and other information generated internally and also between Charities Administration, the College, Government Departments and other stakeholders e.g. independent auditors."
And your further clarification, received 11 June 2025, which states:
I can confirm Charities Administration have forwarded me copies of the KWC
(Registration No 615) Annual Reports and Accounts for each of the years ending 31
August 2020-2023 inclusive. I have sought the same for the year ending 31 August
2024 but have previously been advised (9th May) that these “have not yet been
accepted and placed on file.”
With the accounts that I have I notice there are two “Charities Administration” date
stamps on the cover e.g. for the 2023 accounts there is one for 29 Feb 2024 and one
for 19 Apr 2024. It may be that these relate to the dates I am asking for in my FOI –
date of receipt from Charity and date of being “accepted and placed on file”. I have no
way of knowing that of course. I am not asking for further copies of the 2020-2023
accounts merely the dates of receipt and the dates of “acceptance.” I request these
dates for the 2024 accounts as well.
I do wish for a copy of the 2024 accounts and annual report when available and do not
wish to e-mail you on a weekly basis for confirmation of availability if possible. I
acknowledge that these however have not been explicitly asked for in the FOI but from
your email I assume they are still not yet accepted (with them being "under review"),
which if the second of the dates stamped on previous accounts is reflective of previous
placing on file seems a long delay from the culmination of the 6 month period
following end of financial year when a charity is obliged to submit them to the
Regulator. Of course you will have , I presume, the date of receipt of the 2024
accounts from KWC. I understand that internal due processes may have to take place
on the accounts before this acceptance and there may be a large volume of
documentation to review from other Charites etc. .
Finally I can confirm that I do wish for all information (email etc) relating to any aspect
of the 2024 accounts.
In response to your request, please find the following documents attached:-
• Copy of the 2024 Accounts. • Copy of the information/emails to/from the Charity in relation to the 2024 accounts, including the date of receipt and the date of acceptance.
The dates you have requested for the 2020 – 2023 accounts are below:-
• 2020 Accounts – received 01/03/2021 and accepted 11/11/2021. • 2021 Accounts – received 25/02/2022, returned to charity 26/03/2024. Received for the second time 19/4/2024 and accepted 12/11/2024. • 2022 Accounts – received 16/02/2023, returned to charity 26/03/2024. Received for the second time 19/04/2024 and accepted 12/11/2024. • 2023 Accounts – received 29/02/2024, returned to the charity 26/03/2024. Received for the second time 19/04/2024 and accepted 12/11/2024.
