Dear Mr Cannan,

Founders’ Day 24th May 2025

On Saturday 24th May the Upper Sixth (Year 13) Leavers’ Service (for leavers and parents) begins at 10.00 am in the Chapel of St Thomas. At the end of the Service, Peter Clucas, Chairman of Governors will make a presentation to all new alumni on behalf of the King William’s College Society. The Service is followed by the Founders’ Day ceremony and school prize-giving in the marquee which commences at 11.00 am and concludes at approximately 12.30 pm. A drinks Reception will then take place in King's Court (the Barrovian Hall if wet).

I am delighted to announce that our Guest of Honour this year will be the Isle of Man’s very own Mrs Dot Tilbury MBE who runs the RL360 Cycling League.

I would be grateful if you could arrive in good time and I request that you are in the Principal's study no later than 9.35 am. Parking for Council Members, Governors and MHKs will be just beyond the Bursary and not in the ‘D’. No cars will be allowed into the ‘D’ area. Please make yourself known to one of our parking attendants who will then direct you accordingly.

After the Upper Sixth (Year 13) Leavers’ Service you will be escorted to the Reading Room briefly.
Partners and MHKs will be escorted to the marquee. The Council Members and Governors will then make their way to the marquee while the Guest of Honour, the Chairman of Governors, and I will remain for a few moments. We will then escort the Guest of Honour to the marquee. When the platform party is in position, the band will play the two national anthems after which the Chairman of Governors will welcome the guests and ask the Archdeacon to say a short prayer.

I would be most grateful if you could indicate your attendance by completing the linked form

Dear ###

We write further to your request, received 19 May 2025, which states:

"I seek all correspondence exchanged between King William's College (this includes the Principal, Governing Body, Chair of Governors, Chief Operating Officer/Bursar etc) and the Chief Minister from 1 September 2022 to date."

Please find copies of the information you have requested attached.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Cabinet Office is unable to provide some of the information you have requested because it is absolutely exempt under section 25(2)(b) of the Freedom of Information Act 2015 (absolutely exempt personal information). The reasons why that exemption applies are that:

• The Cabinet Office is satisfied that the information amounts to personal data of which you are not the data subject; and • The Cabinet Office is satisfied that disclosure of the information would contravene one of the data protection principles as set out at Article 5 of the General Data Protection Regulation as it applies in the Isle of Man pursuant to the Data Protection (Application of GDPR) Order 2018, namely that the Cabinet Office can only disclose the information where it would be fair, lawful and meet one of the conditions for lawful processing in Article 6 and in this case, none of those conditions have been met.

Please quote the reference number 4669227 in any future communications.
