We write further to your request which was received on 2 May 2018 and which states:
"Under the Freedom of information Act, Between dates 01/06/2017 up to and including 02/05/2018, exactly what internal works (essential or none essestial) have been carried out to and within the Castletown Youth Club, Arbory Street, Castletown. Which Departments have provided the staff and been involved or carried out these works and what is the total Cost of these works/maintainence."
Our response to your request is as follows: I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. Provided:- Which Department provided the staff/carried out the internal works? - The Department of Infrastructure (Public Estates and Housing Division) carried out /were involved in the works at Castletown Youth Club. Exempt:- What internal works have been carried out & total cost of the works? - While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, the Department is refusing this part of your request on the grounds of a practical refusal reason under section 11 of the Act. This is because your request is in fact seeking information from the Department which we do not hold or have access to.
Therefore as there is no information to disclose by this Department we are satisfied that your request should be refused on the grounds of a practical refusal reason under the provisions of section 11(3) (a) of the Act:- (a) the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that the applicant has requested As highlighted above the responsibility for carrying out works at Castletown Youth Club falls to the Public Estates and Housing Division of the Department of Infrastructure and you should submit your request to that department via the on-line portal, which can be found at https://www.gov.im/about-the-government/freedom-of-information/how-to- make-a-freedomof-information-request/ By way of advice and assistance, we understand that some of the works may have related to the following areas and this may be of assistance to you in submitting any new request to the Department of Infrastructure:- 1. Building of wall in rear corridor to create extra storage and control access 2. Replacement of old fire door at rear of building 3. Addition of storage cupboard in sports hall 4. Ongoing works to renovate the main pool room. Please quote the reference number 450044 in any future communications with the Department of Education Sport and Culture in this matter.
