We write further to your request received 19 February 2025, which states:
"Could you please provide answers to the following
In the last five years how many cases of negligence have been made against Manx
Care
Of those cases how many did Manx Care win/lose or are still on going
In the last five years how much has been spent on legal fees in terms of negligence
cases including awards made against Manx Care"
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Department does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested. I referred this query to the Department’s Quality and Compliance, and Mandate Performance teams, who have confirmed this is not information that would be reported to us. The information requested relates to legal proceedings against Manx Care. As the Department do not receive reports of this information, we would suggest that you contact Manx Care who may be able to help you.
You can submit a Freedom of Information request to Manx Care using the same form as was used to submit this request and selecting “Manx Care” from the drop-down menu.
