Could you please provide information on whether Police Vehicles and Fire Appliances carry defibrillators, and if available, the defibrillator make and model?

Our response to your request is as follows.

Fire Appliances

The following information is provided insofar as your request for information concerns Fire Appliances:

At least one Fire Appliance within each fire station (including Douglas Fire Station and each retained station) carries a defibrillator. There are currently two types of defibrillator in use by the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service, which are:

  • Lifepak CR Plus; and
  • Phillips Heartstart.

Police vehicles

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, the Department of Home Affairs does not hold the information requested in respect of Police Vehicles. This is because the Department of Home Affairs is a separate Public Authority to the Isle of Man Constabulary for Freedom of Information purposes. You may wish to redirect the portion of your request concerning Police Vehicles to the Isle of Man Constabulary, who may be able to assist you.
