We write further to your request which was received on 4 April 2018 and which states:

"1) Are there contracts between Meds and the GPs on the island who work at Meds out of hours. If so, please provide copies of the contracts. 2) Please provide the total cost for GPs who work at Meds and the total cost of Locum GPs who work at Meds, broken down by the financial years from 2014 to date (eg. 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017 to date). 3) Please provide the total number and types of complaints made against the Meds service, broken down by the financial years from 2014 to date (eg. 2014-2015, 2015- 2016, 2016-2017, 2017 to date)."

Our response to your request is as follows: I have detailed below the information that is being released to you. Question 01: Are there contracts between Meds and the GPs on the island who work at Meds out of hours. If so, please provide copies of the contracts. Please find the Department’s response to Question 01: There are contracts between the MEDS (Manx Emergency Doctors Service) and individual General Practitioners (GPs). A copy of the contract is attached as Appendix 1. Question 02: Please provide the total cost for GPs who work at Meds and the total cost of Locum GPs who work at Meds, broken down by the financial years from 2014 to date (eg. 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017 to date). Please find the Department’s response to Question 02: The tables below show the total cost of GP’s and the total cost of Locum GP’s who work at MEDS broken down into each financial year for 2014-2015, 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017 to date:-
