Dear ###

We write further to your request received 24 September 2024, which states:

"As above how/what do you do background checks on the foreign nationals and non Manx nationals invited to the island by locate iom in their own country before inviting them to live in our country.?"

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the public authority does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested. This is because the Department of Home Affairs (the Department) does not hold information pertaining to the background checks of non manx nationals.

In line with the Department’s duty to provide advice and assistance with your request under Section 15 of the Freedom of Information Act 2015 (the Act), as you have highlighted that this is in regards to Locate IOM, we advise that you may wish to redirect your request to the Department for Enterprise (DfE), or alternatively the Treasury who may be able to assist with your request, subject to certain exemptions under the Act.

Please quote the reference number 4140605 in any future communications.
