We write further to your request which was received on 27 March 2018 and which states:

"How many dentists on the Isle of Man NHS providers list, holding a General Dentistry Service Contract, have a UK qualification (earned within the UK) (Batchelor of Dental Surgery) or equivalent? Can you please tell me where the remaining dentists (who hold a GDS contract and are an NHS providers) obtained their qualifications i.e what country did they qualify in. Please include the dentists from community services and the hospital."

Information is accessible to the requestor by other means. However, for the purpose of assisting the requestor and rather than applying an exemption, a full list of current NHS GDS Contract Holders is below. Whilst the General Dental Council holds the requested information (which can be found via the GDC webpage https://www.gdc- uk.org), we have supplied this information also, as taken from the GDC.
11 out of 24 current NHS GDS Contract Providers (at the time the FOI request was submitted) gained their dental qualification in the UK. We have provided this information to be transparent and with the spirit of the Freedom of Information Act.
