We write further to your request, received 8 August 2024, which states:

"For each of the last five years, how many:

(a) properties have registered with the department as Airbnbs

(b) registered Airbnb properties were there in total at the end of each year?"

Our response to your request is as follows:

The Department does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find the information that you have requested.

In order to assist you with this request, the Department wishes to advise that the Department does not register properties as “AirBnbs”, all visitor accommodation is registered as visitor accommodation.

No differentiation is made for AirBnb as this is a marketing and booking platform which providers choose to use for their business.
