Dear ###

We write further to your request, received 23 July 2024, which states:

"Please provide the actual numbers or the annual percentage year on year December 2022 to December 2023 of employees that either worked from home or worked part time from home. If possible provide the overall number of employees in the period, and the overall number of days which were spent working from home."

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Department of Infrastructure does not hold or cannot, after taking reasonable steps to do so, find some of the information that you have requested.

Typically, working from home (WFH) is done on an ad hoc basis and is not a formal arrangement. This is organised by employees with their line manager which we do not hold records on. However, one employee had formal arrangements for WFH during the requested period and spent one and half days per week doing so.

In relation to employee figures for this period, Transport had 34 office staff who could WFH on an ad hoc basis and 120 drivers that are not able to do so. Facilities management had 128 employees during this period.

The Office of Human Resources may be able to provide the full employee count for the period you have requested.

Please quote the reference number 3997823 in any future communications.
