We write further to your request, received 19 July 2024 and amended on the 7 August and the 14 August, which states (as amended):

" How many people registered an interest in acting as a non-executive director of the Steam Packet Company following the vacant positions being advertised by Treasury?

How many people were interviewed for the positions?”

Our response to your request is as follows:

This is an extract from a Treasury Paper submitted to the Treasury Board Meeting of the 19 June 2024, which provides the information you are interested in.

“The recruitment exercise resulted in a total of 51 applications, broken down as follows:

Applications for the Finance role: 24 Applications for the Marketing role: 23 Applications to be considered for both roles: 4

A shortlisting exercise was undertaken by the Treasury Minister and the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, which resulted in six candidates being shortlisted, four for the Finance role and two for the marketing role.”

We can confirm that all six shortlisted candidates were interviewed by the Treasury Minister and the Deputy Chief Financial Officer.
