Dear ### We write further to your request, received 10 May 2024, which states: "How much Legal Aid has been paid to Hannan Law Advocates in respect of ### V

connected to ref ### and ###

How much Legal Aid has been paid to Callin Wild Advocates in respect of ### V ### connected to ref ### and ### We do endeavour to provide information whenever possible. However, under section 19 of the Act, a public authority may refuse a request where to either confirm or deny whether it holds information would itself be absolutely exempt information or qualified exempt information under the Act. In this instance, if the information you requested did exist or was held by us, an exemption under section 27(1)(a) of the Act would apply to that information. This exemption would apply due to the information falling under a disclosure which is restricted by law, specifically section 14 of the Legal Aid Act 1986. Therefore if we were to confirm that the information is or isn’t held by Treasury we would contravene this section of the Legal Aid Act.
