We write further to your request to the Department of Health and Social Care dated 09 October 2017
Your request
Further to the FoI reply dated 1st September 2017 as it applied to the Hon K Beecroft company having a Contract with her Department and in particular where it states the maximum period of the Contract was 5 years from the date of the Contract being awarded then the 5 years were up in July 2017.
Question 01: Can you please advise if a tender process was carried out how many companies applied and what was the lowest tender;
Question 02: In the event that no new tenders were sought by what means was the Contract extended to and the date the Contract will now end.

We are pleased to be able to provide a response to your request with answers to your questions:
Question 01: Can you please advise if a tender process was carried out how many companies applied and what was the lowest tender; In response to Question 0, a competitive tender exercise was undertaken in 2012 with three organisations submitting a tender. Tenders are evaluated on both price and quality factors with the successful bid recognised as the ‘Most Economically Advantageous Tender’. Once a competitive tender exercise is complete, the Attorney General’s Chambers Procurement Services section publicise the scoring spread on their Notification of Tender Results section on the website. The scoring spread for this exercise was 95% to 75%. The Contract was signed on 7th January 2013.

In response to Question 02, the Contract was extended to the maximum permissible
contract length of 5 years and will conclude on 7th January 2018.
