How many buildings are rented by Government and what is the total rent paid?
Response to your request
The answer to your question is that the Department of the Infrastructure (DoI) rents 12 buildings for various Government Departments at an annual rental of £1,091,843.37. Other Government Departments may rent buildings which are not administered by the DoI and if so are not included in this response.
You may find it helpful to know that an office rationalisation strategy has been in place for a number of years with the effect of reducing Government’s use of rented accommodation and that this strategy will further reduce Government’s costs in future years.
