Your request (clarification in italics)

The objective of the Manx Footpath Conservation Group is to foster and encourage walking for recreation and pleasure on footpaths, tracks, rights of way, mountains and open lands and to do all such things that are necessary to protect, maintain, promote and
enhance these objects by any legal means. To pressurise Government Bodies to carry out maintenance promptly according to their obligations and to liaise with landowners to encourage the opening of new footpaths.

It has become apparent that DoI are choosing not to inspect footpaths and other minor rights of way and therefore are unable to assess the condition of such routes in order to know how and when they need repair. In Spring 2016 I was elected as the MFCG Footpaths Officer and since then have sent DoI a series of about 170 emails regarding the state of some footpaths on the island. I have repeatedly asked for feedback regarding the status of these complaints in any format which is available from the department's systems.
The DoI has failed to provide any meaningful feedback. In order to compare the data that is held against the complaints I have made I need to know: 1. the date any complaints were logged, Only the complaints logged by the requestor – in order to be able to do that the requestor is happy for his name to be disclosed 2. the approximate complaint and the status of the complaint (such as resolved / cleared / in process / awaiting assessment). It would be easiest if this were in Excel format but I could also cope with data as hard copy or Word format or pdf.

For clarification the different stages mean:

3 = non safety critical/ non urgent and will be put into a programme to be dealt with once resources become available Cleared = the work has been carried out / completed
