Page 2 of 2 FOIA/DHSC/201711/01 The average waiting time in the Emergency Department for 26th December 2017 was 252 minutes.

It is worth noting that the average waiting time for the period covering 20th December 2017 to 2nd January 2018 was 205 minutes, therefore the waiting time on the 26th December is 47 minutes or 23% longer than the average for the period.

The average number of daily ED attendances for the period is 76 per day.

On Christmas Day (25th), the number of attendances totalled 50, however on the 26th December attendances increased to 89 (78% greater than the previous day) or 13 greater than the period average.
