In response to Question 01 please find the document entitled “Maintaining High
Professional Standards Policy for Handling Concerns Regarding Medical and Dental Staff
Employed in the Isle of Man Department of Health and Social Care” as Appendix 01.
In addition to this the professional bodies to which medical professionals, nurses, allied
health professionals etc. are registered also have their own codes of conduct to which

In response to Question 02, the Department is legally liable for the negligent acts and
omissions of its employees; this is known as vicarious liability. and therefore has
arrangements for meeting this liability. These arrangements are included in the
“Department of Health and Social Care Indemnity Policy” which we have provided for you
in Appendix 02.

03. In addition to this the professional bodies to which medical professionals, nurses,
