It is worth noting that these figures are from “metal hip” replacements and do not
include “metal-on-metal hip” replacements as this procedure is not performed at
Noble’s Hospital. However, the Orthopaedics and Trauma Consultant does follow-up
around 25 patients each year who received metal-on-metal hip replacements in the UK,
for example, those patients who have moved to the Island having received a hip
replacement whilst in the UK.
