Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2015 (FoIA) Ref: IM112631I – Costs associated with Rex the ‘pit-bull type’ canine. Thank you for your request dated 5th December 2017.
You asked: ‘Please provide confirmation and details of all costs associated with the seizure of Rex the "pit bull type" canine, including the cost of his removal from the Isle of Man, the cost of quarantine up to and including the Trial held at Colchester Magistrates' Court and the on-going cost of quarantine.’

Our Response to your request:

Our aim is to provide information wherever possible and in this instance we confirm that we do hold some information to answer your request. The cost for car hire, flights and one night’s hotel accommodation for a visiting UK Police Dog Legislation Officer on 2nd February 2017 was £337.70. No information is held by this Department in relation to the following points:
 the cost of his removal from the Isle of Man;  the cost of quarantine up to and including the Trial held at Colchester Magistrates' Court; and  the ongoing cost of quarantine.
