Dear ,

Request under the Freedom of Information Act 2015 (FoIA) Ref: IM07443I Workplace Compliance Solutions Ltd Thank you for your request dated 19th October 2017.

Response to your Request

Our aim is to provide information wherever possible and in this instance we confirm that we do hold some information to answer your request. Workplace Compliance Solutions offer business and management consultancy services to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) including implementing management systems for International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and BRC Global Standards (BRC) audits. Prior to Isle of Man Meat’s (IOMM) 2017 BRC accreditation, Workplace Compliance Solutions were asked to carry out a pre-assessment appraisal by the Department at a cost of £1925. This was a ‘Food Matters’ supported initiative, to provide key support to the Agricultural industry, as BRC accreditation is business critical for them to trade.

Any further costs incurred by working with Workplace Compliance Solutions in relation to BRC accreditation, were paid by IOMM.

Workplace Compliance Solutions have also been contracted by the Department to deliver Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA) training and pre-audit advice to nine food businesses, in support of the Food Matters strategy, to achieve the target of increasing products suitable for UK multiple retailers and export markets.

The cost of this work was £2051 in 2016/17 and £2316.15 in 2017/18.
