REQUEST UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2015 (“the Act”)
Thank you for your online application dated 06 August 2017 for the following information:
“Her Majesty's Privy Council has some role in Manx matters - for example, passing Orders in Council
relevant to the Isle of Man or serving as the final appeal instance for some Manx court cases. Are
there any financial arrangements for the Isle of Man to compensate the Privy Council for its Manx-
related work? If so, what is the nature of this arrangement and the figures involved? “
Response to your request
We can advise that there are no financial arrangements in place with regards to any role that Privy
Council performs in relation to the Isle of Man; it forms part of the constitutional relationship
between the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man.
