Dear ###

We write further to your request which was received on 30 September 2022 and which states:

"Please provide full details of all costs/monetary value of the following aspects of the Promenade scheme: - 'Temporary' paved footpaths / kerbs over the proposed horse tramway terminus at the bottle neck car park, including value of labour. - The lowering of kerbs across the main highway to accompany the above mentioned 'temporary' paved footpaths from bottleneck car park, including value of labour. - The tarmac and kerbstones used across the tramway corridor at bottle neck car park, along Harris promenade to the horse tramway tracks at Castle Mona Avenue and the other three crossing points from the roadway to the promenade walkway, including value of labour to install. - The materials and labour costs for installing the top soil / 'wild flower' corridor in place of the tramway corridor along loch promenade. - The plant hire / costs for all of the above."

Our response to your request is as follows: The blocks used to create the paved area are from DOI stock. They are bedded and jointed in sand for easy installation and extraction (as and when the rail corridor is undertaken); the blocks will then be returned into DOI stock, as such there are no material costs attributed to this paving. The block laying and associated work was undertaken by DOI staff at a cost of £17,350. The dropped kerb crossing over Loch Promenade is part of the main works and was not constructed to accompany or facilitate any temporary work at the Bottleneck car park. The value of the temporary tarmac including laying in the locations identified is £32,419. The value of the kerb units associated to the temporary works including installation is £35,298.

Total cost for landscaping the areas along the tram corridor is £74,210; this includes haulage, placement, levelling and seeding. The topsoil used was provided free of charge. Plant hire cost if applicable, is included within the costs provided. Please quote the reference number 2676133 in any future communications.
