We write further to your request which was received on 27th September 2022 and which states:

Response Our response to your request is as follows: 1. Do DEFA intend to hire these "Two energy doctors" as civil servants or contract experts in? The two energy doctors will be employed on contracts. Previously DEFA has funded a similar successful energy doctor service which was provided by Age Concern.
2. Have they already hired and engaged anyone for the position? No one has yet been hired or engaged to deliver this service. 3. What qualifications and experience will they be expecting the applicants to have under "Energy Doctor"?" Training will be provided to energy doctors to enable them to undertake house survey and discuss home energy use, warmth and comfort with the householder(s), assesses levels of energy and environmental awareness, attitudes and behaviours in the home, and offering advice accordingly. It would be desirable for the energy doctors to have an energy management qualification and/or experience in DIY linked to the installation of energy saving measures.
