This was the only position appointed within the timeframes included within the scope of the request.

Working Together for the Isle of Man

What will you do? As the Trainee Advocate in Attorney General’s Chambers, you will be provided with a broad variety of opportunities to support the structured training and experience that you will need in preparation for sitting and passing the examinations of the IOM Law Society.

What does that involve? You will be working as a Trainee Advocate in the Attorney General’s Chambers under the supervision of Her Majesty’s Solicitor General. You will spend time in each of Chambers’ principal practice areas, having exposure to a wide range of areas in law, policy and legislation. Our legal team contributes to many reforming developments in Government and you will have an opportunity to really make a difference in an ever more challenging environment, by honing your legal skills to provide focussed and robust legal advice to all Government organisations, helping to prosecute crime, helping to represent client organisations in litigation, preparing commercial documentation and drafting new legislation.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be motivated, adaptable and able to demonstrate a proactive approach and a positive attitude, with outstanding analytical, communication and team working skills.
